How could Day 2 be better than the experience of Day 1? It just was. Perhaps because I feel more comfortable belting out then refining my classical voice?! Either way I came home + raved about day 2 of the Vocal Alchemy Workshop all night to my friends and family and couldn’t contain my excitement. The event moved and shook things in my voice that haven’t been moved and shaken before. More than that, MUCH more than that, the event touched me. So it HAS to be said that more than the vocal lessons I learned about the placement of my larynx in regards to my sound + sure I belted the top F in “Defying Gravity” effortlessly (brag)  + it was a lesson in STATE. It was a weekend that stressed the importance of having your heart in the right place so that the message can flow through you and effect people.  Touch people + from this message I was truly touched once more (remember “The Boy From Oz” story from last post?) I began to remember, fully, truly + authentically WHY I loved doin’ what I do! I worte an article the other week about the technique robot and how you need to disengage from that technical side + this event reiterated that need to surrender and release attachment to the result of your performance. For if you’re TRULY in the right STATE, I learned on the weekend, you can do some AMAZING things. LOVE IT!  Do it.  That’s ALL.  I truly want YOU to experience the JOY + learning that I experienced bacuase I KNOW that the shifts you make will not only make you a better SINGER but also a more AUTHENTIC + passionate creative human being. And we need a lot more of those in our world. Because People with Passion CAN make a difference.
